 This existing complex is a new acquisition for the NGO that manages thousands of housing units, serving every major higher education institution in the Portland area. This project uplifts and transforms the entire complex. The new design provides for all manner of live-work spaces that eliminate the need to travel to work, common study spaces, offices, new administration offices and facilities, indoor and outdoor spaces for community gathering, health and recreation, and also upgrades all the buildings. New ecological design features include carbon-reducing reflective roofs, solar electric PV systems, on site water catchment and remediation, rain gardens and swales, and a walkable site with perimeter pathways and edible and native beneficial landscaping.
