Located in outer Southeast Portland, this project includes the adaptive reuse of a 15,300 square foot previously religious institution. The phased approach reorganizes the internal design of walls, doors and windows, and fire life safety systems so that entire programs are able to relocate internally. The design expands and upgrades the common arrival and hallway space, bringing in natural light via skylights. All classrooms on the perimeter are being retrofit with new egress doors and thermal windows. The initial phase underway now has permitted the internal reconfiguration of classrooms, egress hallways, and also provides several new restrooms.
