Atlan Permaculture Village
White Salmon, Washington | 2013
Located on a 57-acre site in White Salmon, Washington, Atlan is inspired by a group of active visionaries with a comprehensive, regenerative vision. It is an evolving natural and human habitat infused with creativity and spiritual appreciation. Atlan’s intentional vision is to heal its damaged landscape community of flora, fauna, and soil stories, while honoring the millennia of human settlement on the land. Among the many features that will be integrated over time, there will be a network of lovely and active environments for living, gathering, learning and creativity. Team-designed with Barrett Ecological, these are achieved through journey-based pathways and sacred gathering nodes, highly efficient and healthful natural buildings, regenerative gardens, food systems including constant soil-building processes, and many more inspiring ideas and appropriate technologies. Included in the program is a 6,000 square foot commercial building providing for numerous creative and administrative work stations as well as large and flexible workshop space for projects of many scales.
