Hazel Dell Commons, Ecological Public Park​

This project features a 21st century, centerpiece public park, defined at its edges by several new mixed use housing projects, also including the adaptive reuse of an existing set of industrial structures. The new public park will include an open, multi-use commons with a performance pavilion, surrounding geoscape mounded landforms with nature play areas of logs and rocks, orchard trees with edible plant guilds, native wildlife habitat and swales, and several food cart pods with dining areas along the eastern edge. Some of the perimeter intersections feature raised convex platforms that become occasional social piazzas, also making pedestrians safer while slowing cars.
