Gira Sol Permaculture Village
Valle de las Palmas, Baja California, Mexico | 2007
The vision of Gira Sol is to become a permaculture village-intervention amidst the eastward sprawl of Tijuana. Located on 200 acres in the arid Baja Desert, through participatory workshops Gira Sol will develop its complete high yield infrastructure of dry land water harvesting and reuse, regenerative agriculture, social & sacred place infrastructure based on natural building processes, passive and active energy systems, and waste reclamation cycles. The first workshop in 2007 featured a village, permaculture, and water design focus, including expansion of a historic adobe ranch building.
