Larned Family Permaculture Site

This project upgrades this typical single family home into a more abundant and resilient homestead. Features include hundreds of gallons of water catchment using reclaimed food grade barrels linked in series. These are distributed in clusters and towers around the site. There are various kinds of family gathering and play spaces, including an open yard surfaced with thyme and featuring a pond fed by rain water, an elevated sculptural deck, and a trampoline wrapped in passion flower vines. Raised planters and raised beds located in south facing micro climates provide for longer growing seasons for both annual and perennial vegetables. There are also a series of edible plant and tree guilds, a banana plant in a micro climate, and the whole is surrounded by a vegetated fence of various fruit bearing vines. The existing chicken garden is also vastly expanded.
