Hamilton Home Remodel
N Portland, Oregon | 2015
This full remodel of a 1905 home included opening up the interior floor plan, finishing the attic and adding a new master suite. An open-riser stair was added for accessing the newly finished attic. Low storage/partition walls in the attic allow the sleeping area to catch views out the large windows of the new dormer, while also filtering natural light down the open stairwell to the living space below.
Outdoor spaces were a high priority to the owner. With large windows and an open floor plan, the house now maximizes views out and connections to the landscape. The master suite addition frames a large new deck and patio that provide ample space for gathering. Oregon-harvested Western Juniper is used for new exterior wood siding and decking, while landscaping integrates native plants.
