To develop a long term vision for this town on the Oregon coast, communitecture and The City Repair Project teamed with The Bay City Arts Center and the City Council of Bay City to conduct a series of community-involvement workshops.  What emerged was a profound determination to remake the civic infrastructure of the historic 19th century town.  Beginning with a new public square, the city prioritized a series of phased projects that would rejuvenate all levels of the community, respect local ecological systems, and provide for community-driven economic development.  Bay City’s strategy for sustainability is to put the needs of families first and support locally owned and managed commerce.
