Bloom Main House
Orenco, Oregon | 2006
This home is the tour de force of master carpenter Dan Bloom’s career. Incorporating locally-harvested oaks as structural columns as well as salvaged materials from nearby barns, this project is a creative interpretation of historic Orenco’s design standards. The plan incorporates trapezoids rather than rectangles, and serpentine lines and ripples of rivers flow through the plan, celebrating of Dan’s love of water and fish.
