Post by Jason Fifield Share-It Square in the Sellwood Neighborhood Join us and our friends at The City Repair Project as they host the 19th Annual Village Building Convergence. This is City Repair's flagship event with many placemaking and community building projects all over Portland. Events include intersection paintings, permaculture installations, support for houseless communities, natural building projects, landscape restoration, and much more. At the headquarters of Communitecture and City Repair, we are excited for an Alley Activation project. This project is organized by the Portland Global Shapers, which is initiating a placemaking project to revitalize the SE Hickory - Division Street Alley behind our office in the Ladd's Addition neighborhood. The design includes implementation of raised beds, stormwater catchment, and providing space for public art. The goal is to inspire our community to think of alleys as a community asset. In addition to these exciting community building events, the Village Building Convergence offers a placemaking design course and many evening events that include presentations, film screenings, youth empowerment, a bike tour, and storytelling. Check out all the events, and we hope to see you there! Intersection painting from the 2015 Village Building Convergence
